ST-ST Singlemode
ST-ST (Straight Tips) Singlemode fiber optic cable uses a twist cap bayonet-style mechanism to lock the connector in place which applies some force on the connector. This mechanism allows for quick insertion/removal and require precise insertion to acquire minimal dB loss due to insertion. It may also allow the fiber connector to shift thus it is NOT recommended for Singlemode application where the tolerance of connector alignment is smaller.
